An active commitment to diversity and inclusion

Putnam is dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive environment that embraces and recognizes the benefits of what makes each of us unique and different: gender, age, ethnicity, religious or cultural background, disability, marital or family status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and more.

Creating a culture where everyone can thrive

Putnam’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion, founded in 2008, is a central focus for our commitment.

One key responsibility of the office is championing Business Impact Groups that promote networking and engage hundreds of associates in constructive dialogue to make the company better on all levels. These circles of support focus on education and awareness, development, and retention, and help us build stronger relationships with and gain deeper insights into one other.

Enacting a dream

This year represents 60 years since Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech. In the climax of the speech, when he evokes the idea of integration, Dr. King preached that we all should have an equal chance for a slice of the economic pie being served. Here at Putnam, we continue our march to a truly integrated workplace, one that brings us all together and breaks down barriers to achieving Dr. King’s vision.

We’re creating access to opportunities for all associates, ensuring that everyone is included, and institutionalizing diversity and inclusion into all aspects of our business. The vision is for all associates to reach their maximum potential and have a sense of being part of an organization that is vested in helping them succeed.

We know there is more work to be done, but our leaders and associates are committed to ensuring that we all can achieve success and can all share in a slice of the pie.
