Equity Associate

"The travel aspect of the job provides great exposure to the companies and industries I cover. And I generally have discretion to determine timing of company visits and the flexibility to decide which conferences and events to attend — I think that's unique to Putnam."

The Equity Associate is a junior analyst, conducting fundamental research in order to make buy and sell recommendations for stocks. A six-month training program focuses on building basic investing tools. Once training is complete and the Equity Associate demonstrates readiness, the Associate will independently assume coverage of stocks within several subgroups of the market. Responsibilities include detailing the investment case through written research and engaging in dialogue with senior analysts and portfolio managers.
